The reality after the loss

The first election loser to admit that his and the party's loss in the just concluded election, YB Koh Tsu Koon gets back to his daily life with some jittery moments. This gentleman faces new probation, driving in Penang by himself just like other Penangites. The following article was extracted from NST.

Koh 'lost' over roads in Penang

KUALA LUMPUR: Many of us take things for granted, including driving around in familiar areas.
Not so for Gerakan chief Tan Sri Dr Koh Tsu Koon, who faces the unlikeliest problem adjusting back to normal life, after being in public service for 18 years. His problem is driving himself around in Penang after being chauffeured all these years in carrying out his official duties. However, his driving skills are up to date, honed from the time he spent driving abroad during his vacations. However, he has become unfamiliar with roads and directions in Penang after not driving in the island for many years.
"When I was the chief minister, I was told not to drive due to security reasons," he said after a press conference on the one-day briefing to Gerakan delegates on the party's general election performance. The reality of unfamiliar roads in Penang has not put him off."My former political secretary and my former driver are helping (with the directions)." He added that his wife and son, who drive and are familiar with the roads in Penang, were also giving him a helping hand in getting around. He said so many roads had been turned into one-way streets, that this had caused him problems when he started driving again. On the recent general election, Koh said apart from the challenge to Gerakan, he himself lost many things."I lost weight (which he has yet to recover) and I lost my voice..." he said with a smile.

The people believe they are other BN losers, who used to run a ministry or state are now learning to live as normal human again after serving the BN force for so many years. Some are looking for new jobs in Jobstreets, some spending restless nights of denial and disbelief, while some trying to blame one another for their defeats. Anyway, life goes on...now you experience what the people had endured and struggled. That will teach you to become a better man.
