Scrap the crappy cosmonaut programme

Malaysia has spent some of the worthless project in the history of Malaysia. One of them was the Angkasawan programme. This programme was setup after a partial barter deal with the Russian to acquire the SU30MKM jet aircrafts. The programme had spun up a lot Malaysians from the all races, groups and ages to try and fight for their worthiness to become the first Malaysian Cosmonaut. A version similar to the American Idol. Unfortunately, the all the trials were conducted by the government officers and conducted in a controversial way. A lot of candidates who are normal civilians complaint that these trials were just wasting their time. A lot of them were rejected even though they had completed the trials with flying colours, because of spectacles issues etc. There are other complaints as well but these type of excuse should had been avoided if the trial comittee list down the requirements for the applicants before the applications.

This is another form of cheating, fooling the people to their excitement but at the end despair down the drain. Anyway, from the people point of view, this programme had spent millions of people's hard earned money to send a tourist to the space, who is not even recognized by NASA as astronaut. What a waste. At the end, this man got the reputation, appear on the Proton Saga ad and when the time is right, he will be awarded Datuk. The project should benefits more people such as creating job opportunities for engineers to transfer the space technology back to Malaysia.

In yesterday's news, the government said that they will continue with the second space programme to send another Malaysian to space. Read Angkasawan training goes on for Dr Faiz . How benefit the next programme to the people? We'll see!
